Description
Depart Douglas for the day’s adventure, beginning with a nostalgic ride aboard a restored Victorian steam train to Castletown. On arrival, stroll to Castle Rushen — the ancient seat of Norse and English kings — whose towers still guard the island’s southern coast. After exploring the town’s historic Old House of Keys and Grammar School, continue south to the Sound for a leisurely lunch overlooking the Calf of Man. Watch grey seals bask below the cliffs before visiting nearby Cregneish Folk Village, where stone cottages and native Loaghtan sheep preserve the island’s rural past. Return to Douglas across the fairy bridge, remembering to salute the “little people” for good luck.
